December 8, 1982: Millions of people saw it at the World’s Fair in Knoxville, Tenn., and in the future it is likely that Petersburg will get to see the giant portrait of itself. The Alaska Seafood Marketing institute is “amenable” to loaning the 65 foot long by 8 foot high mural of the Petersburg boat harbor for display here, if a place can be found to accommodate it. The mural was the backdrop to the ASMI booth at the World’s fair, which ended October 31.
