Could Narrows shoe be from Japan tsunami?

California resident Tom Reed was kayaking through Wrangell Narrows last week when he found a shoe and bench washed up on a small beach on Mitkof Island, near Spirit Creek. The kanji, or Japanese lettering, inside the shoe lists a surname of either “Katsugai,” or “Katsuka,” depending on the translation.
