Vikings fall to Juneau at home

The Petersburg Vikings baseball team lost three bouts late in the game to Juneau last week.

Head Coach Jim Engell said he was pleased with his players batting game but they need to dial in their defense.

"I felt there were a lot of things we did well," Engell said. "The scores were lopsided but they don't necessarily reflect what the game was like. A lot of those (points) were either tacked on very late in the game or because we had too many walks."

The Vikings played a double-header Thursday afternoon.

Vince Kowalski pitched 6 innings during the first game.

"He had a good strike to walk...
