On February 8th the Mountain View Manor lounge was filled to capacity as community, friends and family all joined in celebrating the 99th birthday of Ruth Sandvik, Petersburg's beloved "Purple Librarian." Her family, pictured above, (back row) Mark and Janet Sandvik (front row) Kristin Hoelting, Ruth Sandvik, and Diane Sandvik came to town for the gathering and suggested that plans are already in the works to celebrate Ruth's 100th in grand style next year.
