April Verch and her band, Cody Walters (left) and Hayes Griffin (right), brought their roots music to the stage of Petersburg's Wright Auditorium last Thursday, presented by the Petersburg Arts Council. Verch is the first woman ever to win both of Canada's top fiddle competitions. She is also an acclaimed step dancer and performed in the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
