An unusual raptor

A juvenile Sharp-Shinned Hawk was sighted at South Harbor on Wednesday evening. These elusive small raptors have short legs and broad dark bands across their distinctly long tails. They prey mostly on song birds and rodents and migrate south out of Canada in the fall.
