The PVFD had a 'hot drill' last Thursday night in the burn room at the Scow Bay Fire Hall. Class A combustibles are used to simulate a 'room and contents' on fire. Firefighters enter the room in teams wearing protective gear including SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) and a hose line to observe and extinguish the fire. A backup team is on standby to assist if necessary.
