Viking boys take two from Wolves at home

The crowd got loud when Kjell Wittstock sunk this backhand reverse layup during Saturday night's win over Wrangell.

The Viking boys basketball team earned two wins over rival Wrangell last weekend while celebrating homecoming in front of a loud hometown crowd. Head Coach Rick Brock was pleased with the performance of the team and looks forward to building on the momentum of beating a strong program.

"Any time you can be successful against Wrangell it's a good weekend," Brock says.

Wrangell finished runner-up in the conference last season and retained the majority of its squad. Petersburg proved up to the challenge and played tough half-court defense on Friday night en route to routing Wrangell, 44-29....
