Lady Vikings sweep Wrangell homecoming

Emma Chase makes the most of a turnover during the Lady Vikings' win over Wrangell on Feb. 13.

The Petersburg High School girls basketball team took on Wrangell last weekend, taking both games with sizable victories. The Lady Viking were on their game from the opening tip on Friday to the final whistle on Saturday, according to head coach Dino Brock.

"We came out very aggressive offensively and we attacked well," he said. "Defensively we were very solid."

On Friday, the girls scored 12 points in the first quarter, with Emma Chase putting up half of the points. Going into the second quarter Wrangell lagged behind with only three points on the scoreboard, and the Lady Vikings came out...
