Linda M. Abbott

Linda M. Abbott, 73, passed away on Jan. 23, 2016 in Anchorage, Alaska with her loving husband Wes by her side. She was born on Oct. 25, 1942 in Petersburg, Alaska to Harry and Hellen (Bell) Bean.

Linda spent her younger years in Skagway, Alaska where she attended primary school and graduated from Skagway High School. She

received EMS training and after choosing to live as one of God's children, became a lifelong

student of the Holy Bible. Memberships included ANB/ANS and Assembly of God Church.

Linda had a variety of jobs, working in the local canneries, and later fished on her and her husband Wes' commercial troller, harvesting salmon, her favorite being king salmon. She worked for a time in Kake as a Dispatcher/Jailer for the local police department. She also served as a volunteer for EMS and worked as a home health aide. She met the love of her life in 1970 and married Harold W. Abbott Jr. (Wes) in 1972.

Worship, songs of praise and singing were most important to her. She shared her love with and kept up on her large family, and spent time with her personable cat, Boaz. She enjoyed cooking, sport, subsistence and commercial fishing, as well as Bible study,

crocheting, listening to audio books, camping, berry picking or just going for a car ride "out the road" with her daughter Diane or husband Wes. She liked getting to travel with Wes to visit family and friends both in and out of Alaska, especially Oregon and sometimes Arizona.

Linda was preceded in death by her father Harry Bean; mother Helen Bell; step-father Merlin Bell; and sister Arlene Hanson (Bell).

Linda is survived by: husband Harold W. Abbott Jr. (Wes); son Stacey Hjort (Shelly) of Petersburg; daughter Diane Abbott of Petersburg; son Eric Hjort of Port Townsend, Wash .; son Harold W.
