Robert (Bob) L. Bailey, 80, went to be with the Lord April 30, 2016 at Petersburg Medical Center accompanied by his wife Judy Bailey.

He was born December 22, 1935, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, the son of Hayden and Jeanette Bailey. He was one of four children and married to Judith Chester on June 6, 1999.

Bob graduated from high school and joined the military. He served for six years and earned three purple hearts. He loved to travel and worked his way across the country. He worked on the oil fields, in construction and came to Alaska wanting to fish.

He is survived by his wife Judy Bailey, six children on his side and four children on Judy's side. Bob at times went by "Cowboy", "Oil man" and "Honey."

A celebration of life will be held Sat., May 7, 2 pm at the Lighthouse Assembly of God church.
