Devil's Thumb Shooters take talents to state

The Devil's Thumb Shooters performed well at state in Wasilla earlier this month. Sebastian Davis, left to right, earned first place in JV Trap, Israel Collison came in second, and Franklin Neidiffer managed to break 84 of 100, but finished just outside the top five.

The Devil's Thumb Shooters put on a show and brought home some hardware, including a hat with a bunch of holes in it, from the state competition held in Wasilla June 8 - 11. Three shooters made the trip and were welcomed by sunny, clear conditions, according to coach Larry O'Rear.

"They did real well, they did a great job," O'Rear says. "The first couple days of shooting were really nice, you could see Denali in the background."
