Learning on ice

Ron Loesch / Petersburg Pilot

Victor Trautman's high school geology class visited LeConte Glacier on Wednesday. Students learned about glacial moraines, the history and impact of glacial movement throughout the region and how the LeConte Bay shorelines were carved away as the rock laden ice grated across the granite surfaces.
