February 16, 1917 – A meeting of the Hospital Association was held Tuesday evening for the purpose of considering the feasibility of building a hospital. It was decided to organize a stock company, with a capital stock of at least $2,000, the shares to be sold at $1.00 each, to erect a two-story building, 30x36 feet, on a lot above the Ursin residence, in the north end of town. It is figured that the structure will cost between $1,600 and $1,800.
