September 21, 1917 – The blue clay under the concrete foundation at the light and power plant having become soaked up during the recent heavy rains, the light service is now somewhat “on the blink”. At a special meeting of the council it was decided to have L. J. Isrealson make temporary repairs by wedging up the foundation under the engines; also to change about the exhaust pipes to go straight through the roof, and to dig deep ditches on three sides of the building.
