August 23, 1918 Notice has been received from the assayer in charge of the Seattle Assay office that in the future all platinum offered for sale in the form of jewelry, dental scraps and in other forms shall be received. The platinum will be credited to the person sending it in and will be forwarded to the New York Assay office where equipment is being installed to determine the value of the deposits. The metal will be then turned over to the Government and used for war purpose and the value forwarded to the person making the deposit.
