On Saturday, Petersburg held the 42nd annual Oktoberfest Art Share in the community gym sponsored by the Muskeg Maleriers. Local artists sold handmade arts and crafts and baked goods. There was a mix of food being offer too, from sushi and Thai food, to chicken enchiladas and caramel corn made on the spot. There were 58 vendors present, the largest number Oktoberfest has ever had in 42 years, according to Sally Dwyer, one of the organizers of the event. Dwyer said she was unable to come up with a number of those who attended the event because there were too many people coming and going throughout the day. This marks the second year that the baked goods venders were brought into the gym from the hallway. Dwyer said the hall was getting too crowded and thought it was best to free up space and bring them into the gym for safety reasons.
