November 22, 1918 The outbreak of Spanish Influenza in Petersburg is practically under control. No new cases have been reported to the health board for the past several days and it is thought there will be no more. The doctors report that at least 800 cases developed here, without a single death, with the exception of five natives and a white man who was brought from an outside point too far gone to be saved.
