May 2, 1919 Some of the largest logs ever seen in this part of Alaska are in the mill boom at the Juneau Lumber Mills. They have to be blasted to fit the saws. They are from near Petersburg.

April 28, 1944 We have been informed by “a reliable source” that effective yesterday, we may expect daily air service between Petersburg, Juneau, and Ketchikan. Airlines in both Ketchikan and Juneau are said to be cooperating on this plan.
