Last Monday evening the Elks Students of the Month Dinner was held upstairs at the Elks Lodge. The participants were served spaghetti, Caesar salad, garlic bread and ice cream sundaes for dessert. From September to April a student committee picks both a male and female PHS student as the Elks Student of the Month. These students show strong academics, participate in extra-curricular activities, as well being leaders to their peers. At the end of year dinner both a male and female student are selected as the Student of the Year.   Those names will grace a plaque that hangs outside Jim Engell's classroom in the high school. This year the Students of the Year were seniors Louden Sandhofer and Gillian Wittstock. The Student of the Month program is sponsored by both the Elks Lodge and Trading Union.
