Power & Light to replace meters in North Boat Harbor

The current meters in North Boat Harbor were installed during a 2014-2015 replacement project, according to Utility Director Karl Hagerman. The meters that are being replaced as part of the upcoming AMI project will be kept in inventory to be used in the rest of the distribution system.

A request for proposal was awarded to Eaton Corporation on Friday by the borough assembly for the supply, integration, training and support for a fully functioning radio frequency meter reading system not to exceed $113,034.38.

The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system will replace all the meters in North Boat Harbor and some of the meters in the Middle and South Boat Harbors. The radio frequency meters will eliminate the need for a meter reader to go down to the harbor when a visiting vessel berths to get a reading and turn the meter on, according to Utility Director Karl Hagerman...
