Letters from the Past
Letters and papers belonging to Frank Booth, US Marshall and Alaska Native Brotherhood Grand President who was the father of Amy Booth Hallingstad. The documents date back to 1933, recounting some of the controversy and struggle for the civil rights of Alaska Natives.
Included is a message to the Democratic Party convention from William Paul, requesting their platform state an affirmation of the "American principles of equality of opportunity among all people, without reference to race, creed or color." The letters were found in the attic of a house in 1976 by Eva Bryce.
