Steve Burrell was at work Wednesday using an excavator to level the ground surrounding the couple's home that was built in 1912 on N. Nordic Drive. Desi Burrell's great grandparents, the Ursins, bought the home in 1917. It was later owned by her grandparents, Adolf and Bunny Mathisen. By Wednesday evening the home was reduced to a rubble pile. Desi said they expect to begin construction in September on a single story, 1468 square foot home with a full basement. "It will be a home we can live and die in," and will be fully accessorized for wheel chair use and safety grab rails, according to Burrell.
