Martin Odegaard, a foreman with Public Works, scoops out rock with an excavator from the back of a dump truck to strengthen the foundation of the sidewalk near the Harbormaster's Office. According to Ray Wesebaum, the ground beneath that portion of sidewalk was falling away due to years of being used as a snow dump. Public Works staff cut off that piece of sidewalk and are reinforcing the foundation before pouring a new slab of concrete. Work is expected to be completed this week.
