Lucas Cotta holds up a Columbia spotted frog he and his family found up the Stikine River last Sunday. According to United States Forest Service Wildlife Program Manager Bonnie Bennetsen, the Columbia spotted frog and the wood frog bear a striking resemblance. In order to tell the two apart, one has to look at the frog's belly. A Columbia spotted frog has a reddish belly and a wood frog has a white-yellow belly, said Bennetsen.
