The chart above lists the current outbreak's 14-day cumulative COVID-19 case count as of 4 P.M. Monday.

The Petersburg Emergency Operations Center has lowered the local community COVID-19 risk level from red to orange Monday morning, according to a joint press release from the Petersburg Borough and Petersburg Medical Center.

There were several reasons the EOC made the decision to lower the local risk level from high to moderate. Several recent positive cases have come from households where infected residents were isolated according to the press release. Additionally, the COVID-19 positivity rate in Petersburg has gone down, while the vaccination rate has gone up.

Monday marks the end of a 22-day high risk level for COVID-19 transmission in the community. The last time Petersburg was at an orange, or moderate, risk level for COVID-19 was on Feb. 21.

The EOC is reporting 11 active cases of COVID-19 for Petersburg as of 4 P.M. Monday. While one new active case was identified on Monday, three residents were released from isolation. Saturday and Sunday each saw one new case of COVID-19 identified in the community, but one individual was released from isolation on Sunday.
