Last Sunday between 130 and 150 people from town enjoyed the hospitality of the Petersburg Moose at a big picnic held at Sandy Beach. The gas boats started running at an early morning hour, and until late in the afternoon were kept busy. Coffee and lemonade were served by the Moose, the picnickers furnishing their own luncheon. Babies played in the sand and sun, older kids paddled in the water, and still older kids played catch and baseball until the shower which occurred late in the afternoon put a stop to the fun.
