In the United States district court the jury in the case of Dr. George F. Dickinson against the Town of Petersburg brought in a verdict for the plaintiff. The plaintiff asked for $1,857 plus 8 percent interest for professional services rendered to the people of Petersburg during the epidemic of smallpox at the town in the fall and winter of 1919.
