July 29, 1921

A petition has been prepared and will be forwarded to the Surveyor General of the Territory as soon as signed asking that a tract of land located between the Standard Oil and Turn Point be subdivided and platted as a townsite to be known as West Petersburg. If the petition is granted the lots will be surveyed and the property holders will secure title to their holdings which have become extremely valuable within the last few years. The tract is located on Wrangell Narrows about one mile from the center of town and is connected with Petersburg by the Government road to School Bay...
