June 16, 1922 Big Joint Picnic is Great Success. Although the weather outlook appeared rather questionable Sunday morning, it did not stop a large crowd from starting out for Mason’s Place, 20 miles down the Narrows, to meet the Wrangell crowd for a joint picnic. The Americ left first with the early birds; then followed the Eunice, Lorraine, Sherman, and Odin – not to mention Jesse Ames’s pleasure yacht.
