To the delight of stargazers all across the state, a vivid aurora painted the sky on Monday night. The dark night due to the recent new moon and the clear sky due to strong overnight winds blowing the usual cloud cover away made it possible to view the extraordinairy show from the Petersburg shores of Frederick Sound.
