Chris Basinger / Petersburg Pilot

The Hōkūle'a arrives in Petersburg's South Harbor Sunday afternoon. Before being towed into the harbor and tying up, the Hōkūle'a was greeted by bonfires and drummers along the beaches of the Wrangell Narrows. The Hōkūle'a previously traveled to Yakutat, Hoonah, Haines, Juneau, Angoon, and Kake as part of its Moananuiākea Voyage. The journey will span the next four years and 43,000 nautical miles as it travels to hundreds of ports around the Pacific Ocean.
