PHS cross country starts off strong in Klawock

Maria Toth smiles as she races into first place in dominant fashion during her first official meet as a PHS freshman.

Petersburg High School's cross country team showed impressive performances across the board at their first official meet in Klawock last Saturday.

The ten Petersburg runners arrived in Klawock the morning of the race, along with teams from Craig, Hydaburg, Ketchikan, Klawock, Metlakatla, Mt Edgecumbe, and Wrangell.

"Our team did very well overall, we had a really successful weekend," said head coach Casey Gates.

Petersburg's Maria Toth and Kinley Lister took first and second respectively with absolute dominance in the girls race.
