Concentrated flight activity was observed along the Wrangell Narrows on Saturday morning. A witness said the Jayhawk helicopter - hailing from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Sitka- was flying low, in foggy weather, and made several passes through the Narrows. It was announced on Saturday evening that the Alaska State Troopers, Sector SEAK, USCGC PIKE and USCG Air Station Sitka cooperated while responding to an adrift vessel floating down the Narrows. The owner of the vessel was located safe and the vessel was returned safely to its moorings, according to a Facebook post from USCGC PIKE.
