Sunday was a good day for outdoor recreation on Mitkof Island. Temperatures reached 57 degrees, which was the hottest March 24 ever recorded in Petersburg. Hikers Colette Peters (left) and Matty Kok (right ) ascended Crystal Mountain - four-plus miles up the pipeline trail and snowshoes beyond the lake.
