The PHS wrestling team had a solid showing in front of the home crowd in a meet that consisted of 10 other schools. This was the final meet before regionals and the first time this season that every wrestler won at least one of their matches.
Jake Newlin, a freshman wrestler, claimed the first win of his high school career under the spotlight.
"Every time I got on my back, I was right by the mat – at the end when I was about to get pinned, I bridged out of it and didn't give up and I was able to flip him over," Newlin said.
