Hollywood starlet Alice Walker was 'discovered' in Petersburg, Alaska, by a visiting family friend and it was decided she must go off to Hollywood to become an actress. Born on January 7, 1913, to Adolf and Alice G. Norberg, Terry left her home in Petersburg to chase her dream in 1927. She took classes in singing and dancing, worked as a lounge singer, changed her name (twice!) and went on to secure roles in more than twenty films.
