Obituary: Jay W. Clark July 21, 1958 - Nov 12, 2025

Jay Wikan Clark, 67, passed away on November 12, 2025 in Hampton, New Hampshire after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born and raised in Westfield, Massachusetts, Jay later made his way to his mother's hometown of Petersburg, Alaska (Little Norway), where he spent many adventurous years as a commercial fisherman, surrounded by his Norwegian-Alaskan family. Jay ended up moving back to New England and made his home in Hampton, New Hampshire, where he built a life filled with warmth, laughter, and adventure.

Jay was preceded in death by his father James Buotte, Sr. Jay is survived by his children Jack Clark and Lilly Williams, and her husband, Alex Williams, as well as his mother Jane Slater and siblings David Buotte, Veronica Carter, Kristine Schierer and Kathleen Buotte. He also shared a loving and joyful partnership with his girlfriend, Christine Galer, whose companionship brought immense happiness to his life.

Jay was a gregarious man with a gift for connecting with people. His quick wit and unmistakably sarcastic sense of humor made him unforgettable to everyone he met. After spending his early years as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, Jay was later drawn to working with people, spending much of his career in sales positions and later, as a chauffeur. Jay also loved connecting with children and spent many hours volunteering as a coach for youth sports teams.

Jay's passions were many and reflected his deep appreciation for the world around him. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Boston sports teams. He also loved live music, never missing a chance to dance or enjoy a great show. He found peace in fishing, joy in bird watching, and a sense of freedom in exploring the outdoors. Whether he was at the beach, wandering a wooded trail, or spending time with friends, Jay brought energy, levity, and genuine warmth wherever he went.

Jay will be remembered as the life of the party, a loyal friend, an incredible father, a loving son and brother, and a partner whose presence could brighten any room. His family and friends will forever miss him-and forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
