August 27, 1926 – The largest pack ever put up by the Petersburg Packing Company was completed Monday when the cannery ended its season after putting up 129,724 cases of salmon, a mark which is believed to be nearly a record for any three-line cannery in Southeastern Alaska. The cannery will not operate again this year. All pack was put up in one pound tall cans and figures on varieties of fish canned were given as follows: Pinks, 95,261; Chum, 21,908; Reds, 7,214; and Coho, 5,346.
