Four runners place top-25 for girls cross country team
Petersburg junior runner Cadence Flint fends off Wrangell's Alana Harrison during the Sitka Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, in Sitka, Flint was one of four Viking runners to finish in the top 25, with her placement being 2nd and her time – a new personal best of 21:39.84.
The PHS Cross Country team had their first meet of the season this past weekend in Sitka, culminating in a strong outing.
The girls team didn't have their full roster as they were missing a couple of other runners. Despite this, all four girls that competed in the meet finished in the top 25. Junior runner Cadence Flint finished 2nd, Zia Hulebak finished 12th, freshman Arya Holmgrain finished 19th and Devyn Flint finished 25th.
Flint set a new personal best with a time of 21:39.84.
