The many talented cooks of Petersburg contributed 26 crockpots of soup for the Humanity in Progress 3rd annual Empty Bowls fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 3, along with breads and 25 desserts for the silent auction. The event raised $15 thousand which was doubled by a matching grant from the Petersburg Community Foundation and anonymous doner. The funds go to support HIP's mission of connection to services and support for those experiencing housing insecurity, homelessness or hunger in Petersburg.
