Despite losing one full meet due to bad Alaska weather, the Petersburg High School Wrestling team had a strong outing in their first meet of the season this past weekend at the Southeast Showdown.
The tournament saw over 300 wrestlers try and grapple their way to victory – which was the case for the Vikings as senior Eli Anderson won the tournament in the 189 weight bracket, going a perfect 4-0. This was also Anderson's first tournament win since last season in Metlakatla.
