Tlingit Drum Design - Friday, April 13, 6 - 9 and Saturday, April 14, 10 – 1 pm. Council Chambers, call the library at 772-3349 to register. Open to adult & teens 6th grade and up - Free Get ready for Celebration 2012. Design a Tlingit motif for a hand-drum with Ross Nannauck III. You must bring your own undecorated drum. This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and is presented in cooperation with the Petersburg Indian Association.
Invasion of the Afterschoolers - Light Switch Covers, Tuesday, April 17, 3:30 - 4:30. Decorate light switch covers using Tlingit design elements while studying the traditional use of color in Tlingit art.
Preschool Story time - Wednesday, April 18, 10 – 11 am. Open to preschoolers. Stories, songs and activities that help children get ready for school and encourage a love of reading at an early age.
