In the Petersburg District Court, Superior Court Judge Katherine Lybrand presided over State of Alaska v Cedric Denard Simmons in a status hearing. The defendant was present, but not in custody. Simmons waived extradition and asked to return to Florida on his own. Another status hearing for both cases, pending resolution, was set for August 19.
