Obituary

Donald R. Peeler was born August 21,1963, to Dave and Beth Peeler in Seattle, Washington. He joined three brothers and a sister as the youngest Peeler child. Don was a happy kid who loved life with a passion. He loved his family, fishing, working with his hands, helping others and sports – especially the Green Bay Packers.

After graduating from West Seattle High School he followed his older brother Al north to the fishing grounds in Alaska, where he thrived as a commercial fisherman, building a reputation as both a dependable crewman and good friend – because, as much as he enjoyed a day off, Don was always quick to drop everything to lend a helping hand to a kid, a friend or a neighbor.

When he wasn't on the boat he could be found woodworking, as evidenced by the beautiful and whimsical pieces he made for family and friends. Later Don discovered rockhounding and enjoyed spending a quiet day at the beach with his wife looking for that special rock.

Don married the love of his life, Dawn Ingle, on June 14, 2004, creating a blended family of 8. Much more than just a father, Don was a twin dad, a girl-dad, and a granddad too! Some of his happiest days were spent enjoying a round of golf, reading books, and having grandkid sleepovers.

Don passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, after a short but fierce battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Ingle; his children, Cameron Peeler, Katie Peeler, Rocky Peeler (and her children Bradley, Brea and David), Kristine Peeler (and her son Donnie), Tayla Wilson, Cory Wilson, Cassandra Snyder and Tamara Cooper; his mother, Beth; his siblings, Sue Main, Al Peeler, Dave Peeler, Jack Peeler and their families.

Don's ashes will be spread in Southeast Alaska where he loved to hunt and fish.
