    The Petersburg High School Class of 2017 ended their K through 12 tenures at a commencement ceremony Tuesday evening. Petersburg gave diplomas to 29 students. Of those, 24 will attend, or plan to attend, a university, community college or trade school. He was raised and educated in Minot, North Dakota, where he graduated from Minot High School in 1981. Scott furthered his education at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton and graduated in 1983 with a degree in Electronics.     PETERSBURG, Alaska (AP) – A hatchery in a small southeast Alaska community that closed down under a mountain of debt in 2014 has been purchased by a nonprofit organization that plans to produce chum and Chinook salmon at the site. The state had foreclosed on the Gunnuk Creek hatchery’s $22 million debt and put it up for sale.     Despite a high participation rate in the Petersburg Borough’s recycling program there is still too much recyclable material going to the baler facility, according to Public Works Superintendent Karl Hagerman. 95% of Petersburg’s 1,200 sanitation customers participate in the recycling program, but Hagerman says the waste diversion rate hovers around 16%.
