The sum is derived from four licenses of local saloons for the six months ending December 31 and twelve mercantile and miscellaneous licenses for the year ending June 30 next.     September 28, 1917 – Between sixty and seventy dollars has so far been subscribed for the soldiers’ tobacco fund, started last week by Petersburg camp of the Arctic Brotherhood. It should be noted contributors to this fund that the money is to be expended directly by the local A.B.’s.     The body of 24-year-old Jase Payne was found late Monday near a dock at Rocky Point Resort in Petersburg, Ending what had been a four-hour search by family members, state troopers and local police.     KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) — The rainfall this summer in one Alaska city is getting close to shattering a 50-year record. Ketchikan is on track to have its wettest summer since 1967, according to the National Weather Service in Juneau.
