    September 9, 1916 – Word was received yesterday that S. L. Hogue started from Seattle to Petersburg on Wednesday with a new gasboat. The craft, which is said to be fifty feet or more in length, will handle the increasing business of the Trygve’s run. Conrad Dahl, of Tacoma, is coming north on the new boat as pilot. Mr. Hogue also purchased a Ford auto delivery while in Seattle.     September 2, 1916 – Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Willard made a trip to Farragut Bay the latter part of last week and staked out a homestead claim. They came up last spring from Seattle to Ketchikan in their launch Daisy, and a couple of weeks since to Petersburg.     August 12, 1916 – The submersible wrecking scows to be used in raising the Northland arrived in port Thursday evening, and, after taking on a pilot, continued on to Kake.     August 5, 1916 – Work on Petersburg Scow Bay road is to be started as soon as a crew of men can be assembled. W.F. Pendergast, who is to have charge of the work, accompanied by James Joyce, arrived Thursday from Juneau.
