May 26, 1922 The inauguration of a weekly mail service between Petersburg and Juneau including Cape Fanshaw and other way points beginning July 1st has been announced by postmaster Jacob Otness. The contract for the service has been awarded to George Remstead, of Fanshaw. The contract covers a period of four years. The Stedman Elementary foursquare club ended on May 3 with a large tournament, music, and excited spectators. The first-time club met every Tuesday after school to play foursquare and ninesquare since September. The members of the Petersburg Fire Department and the school children will be holding a tag sale on Wednesday, May 17th for the benefit of the playground fund.
