Obituary: Gladys Mary Olsen, 95

Gladys Mary Olsen, 95 passed away on May 15, 2020.

She was born at home near Marysville, Washington on March 24,1925 to William and Anne (Grassmee) Jensen.

She graduated from Arlington High School in 1943.

During WWII she worked at the Boeing Plant in Everett, Washington.

Gladys married Raymond Olsen on September 11, 1946 and they had five sons. They all are grateful for the enjoyable times she provided while growing up on their farm in Arlington, Washington.

She spent much of her life supporting her husband in his logging, road building and saw-milling businesses. She enjoyed working for Lee's Clothing in Petersburg for many years.

Gladys enjoyed her homes in Arlington and Petersburg and every minute of her berry picking and picnic outings with friends and family. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved her flower gardens. She was very artistic and took pleasure in her hobbies of sewing, quilting, crocheting and painting. A favorite pastime was a beach walk always looking to add to her collection of beach glass and other treasures.

She was an active member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Petersburg until she entered the Long Term Care Unit at Petersburg Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother George; sister Pauline; and infant brothers Robert and William.

She is survived by; her husband Raymond; sons John, Jim, Raymond Jr., Robert and Mike; their families; and brother Elm of Wenatchee, Washington.
